This is an excellent educational model - an electrostatic machine from the 1960s. The device is also known as the Wimshurst Influence Machine. It is a type of electrostatic generator. Turning the wheel generates an electrical current that is visible to the spectators. It's a cool piece for science enthusiasts.
The model is not operating since the straps are not in a good state, but they can be changed. Also one of the sticks is missing. It is in overall good condition and can be restored to working condition by someone who will put time into it.
The base is made of wood. The wheels and plexiglass and the rest is made of metal and glass.
It is 41.5 cm wide, 48 cm high and 31 cm deep. It weighs 7.2 kg.
